Word Has It is writer and editor Kate Johnston.

I aim to inform, entertain and inspire readers through providing feature articles and profiles on the following topics:

  • health and wellbeing
  • human interest
  • spirituality and community
  • sport and leisure
  • travel
  • food
  • strategies and tools for living well, and
  • the arts and architecture.

In 2006, my article entitled ‘Back in the Saddle Again’ won a Council On The Ageing (COTA) Media Award.

Go to Feature articles to read my profiles of cricketer Merv Hughes, actress Noni Hazlehurst and Sports CEO Paul McNamee, as well as ‘ordinary’ people doing extraordinary things. One example is Philip Engelberts. Philip is a Sydneysider whose connection with a Thai orphanage has changed both his and the children’s lives.

You can also find stories about going ‘green’, men’s health, bike riding and much more.

Word Has It’s professional services include writing and editing the following:

  • website copy
  • enewsletters
  • brochures
  • annual reports, and
  • speeches.

To read examples of this work, go to Professional Writing.

To read my short stories, go to Creative Writing.

Word Has It fees are negotiated to reflect the scope of the project. To call or email me, go to the Word Has It contact page or reply to my blog.

Enjoy!
